Introduction to Shijiazhuang Foreign Language School |

Build in 1994, SFLS now occupies an area of nearly 160 mu with a total floor space of 105,244 square metres and 31,000 square metres as afforested area. In 1999, SFLS was granted the title “Provincial Key Middle School” by Hebei Provincial Government; in 2000, with the birth of the Attached Kindergarten and Primary school, the pattern consisting of the kindergarten, the primary school, junior and senior middle schools came into being; in 2002, Shijiazhuang International School was established in SFLS and overseas students appeared here from then on; in 2003, SFLS further expanded the school scale and lay a solid basis for the school to bid for the title of “National Model School”; |
in 2004, with the permission of the National Education Department of PRC, with ranked SFLS as one of the best 15 foreign schools nationwide, SFLS became the only qualified school in Hebei to recommend excellent students to universities. |

Today, SFLS contains four sections: Kindergarten, Primary School, Junior Middle School and Senior Middle School, with more than 500 faculty members and over 8,000 students, 3,000 of whom are boarding students.

SFLS is equipped with advanced facilities for study and sports: 3 teaching buildings, a laboratory building, one foreign expert building, the library, the computer study and web centre, the international conference hall, the art centre, the concert hall, the 400-metre standard plastic cement arena, the gymnasium, the gymnastic training building, the table tennis centre, the swimming pool, the observatory, the bowling gym, the botanical garden, the indoor climbing rock, 3 apartment buildings and 6 dining halls.

* 2004 With the permission of the National Education Department of PRC, SFLS became the only qualified school in Hebei to recommend excellent students to universities.
* 2003 SFLS was given the title of “National Advanced Unit in Employing Foreign Cultural and Educational Experts” by the National Bureau of Foreign Experts.
* 2002 Cooperating with Qianyuan Real Estate Company, SFLS further expanded the school scale, occupying an area of 160 mu, with a total floor space of 110,000 square metres.
* 2001 SFLS successfully hosted the 19 th Annual Conference of National Research Association of Foreign Language Schools
* 2000 Co-operating with Hebei White Group Company, SFLS expanded the school scale and formed the present system, which consists of the Kindergarten, the Primary School, the Junior Middle School and the Senior Middle School.
* 1999 SFLS was granted the title “Provincial Key Middle School” by Hebei Provincial Government.
* 1998 SFLS sent a delegation of 37 middle school students to Hobart College in the State of Tasmania, Australia, which was the first case in Hebei Province.
* 1997 SFLS the school was formally named Shijiazhuang Foreign Language School.
* 1996 SFLS was appointed Experimental School of School-mode Reform by the Provincial Education Department of Hebei and then created “Preparatory Class for Foreign Language Colleges”.
* 1995 SFLS determined “Foreign Language Featured” as her general conception, “Based On Human Features” as her guiding principle and “Patriotic, Sociable, Cooperative, Polite, Healthy and Creative” her aim of cultivating students.
