In foreign language teaching, the leading part of our teaching, we closely focus on the students’ language ability and their all-quality development in all the aspects: course plan, textbook selection, class forms and teaching methods. Therefore, our foreign-language-featured teaching reform has had remarkable achievements. Three foreign languages, namely English, Japanese and Russian are taught in small classes. All the year round, nine foreign teachers are in charge of spoken lessons from kindergarten to senior middle school. Besides the assigned textbooks, our students also finish a series of reading and listening material for corresponding grades. Bilingual education is fully developed in our kindergarten and primary school, and, in our junior and senior middle schools, we have experimental bilingual classes, where special attention is paid to the students’ communicative abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. By doing so, we really manage to make the foreign languages the students’ second language as well as their tools in learning.
